Caller ID spoofing has always been one of my favorite phone tricks and phone phreaking topics. One thing I noticed was a lack of good information on Caller ID spoofing. Wikipedia has had an entry for some time now, but I always thought it sucked. It was never very complete, and every time I tried [...]

Some Random Blog Thoughts

It’s been a really long time since I’ve blogged…anywhere. DailyPhreak is through and I’ve been really busy lately, so I haven’t blogged over here in a long time. For anyone who cares - sorry. I just posted my 2600 article from this past falls issue, so if your antsy to read something, there ya go!
So [...]

In the Fall 2006 Issue of 2600 I had my first ever print article published, titled “Ownage By AdSense”. I was pretty siked about it! However, due to the exposure Google fixed the issues mentioned in the article pretty quickly. I think it was just a matter of a couple weeks, a month tops. I’m [...]

My Telecom Predictions For 2007

Where is telephony headed in 2007? Well, here are my predictions! I thought this would be a fun little text file to write up every year from now on. I think it’ll be interesting to look back in a year from now and see how right or wrong I was!
Asterisk will become much more widely [...]

PhreakVids.com Updated

I finally got around to updating PhreakVids.com tonight with some new videos someone recently pointed out to me. Personally, I think the CNN video with Justin Petersen AKA Agent Steal, is awesome! I’ve read so much about Agent Steal and always wondered what he was up to these days, so it was great to finally [...]

After testing out Trixbox I found out that Digium had started releasing its own Linux distribution through rPath, a company who specializes in customized Linux distributions for particular applications. I decided to give the distro a try and see what I thought of it. So I ended up downloading the Pound Key 1.2.1 ISO which [...]

Asterisk Vs. Trixbox

I recently wrote a text file for oldskoolphreak.com about my experiences with Trixbox. I decided I should post the article here as well for anyone that hasn’t visited oldskoolphreak lately!
Somewhat recently I needed a fresh Asterisk box up and running ASAP for some testing I was planning on doing. I didn’t want to sit around [...]

My Fall 2006 Von Experience

Here’s my (very informal) write up about my experience on the Fall 2006 Von exhibit floor. It highlights my favorite vendor booths at the conference. Overall, I had a really good time at Von and was able to pick up a ton of brochures and various reading materials from vendors which helped me [...]

DEFCON 14 Schedule Online

I noticed that the tentative schedule for DEFCON 14 is up now. Looks like another good year, with the standout speeches in my opinion being the “AT&T Wiretapping Case” by the EFF, “Advanced Attacks Against PocketPC Phones” by Collin Mulliner, “Hacking FedEx Kinko’s: How Not To Implement Stored-Value Card Systems” by none other than Strom [...]

Last month I reported that Binrev.com was ranked as the 194,542nd most visited site on the internet by Alexa.com’s traffic ranking. Well I just checked to see what it was at for this month, and now were ranked at 130,068! Rootsecure.net which is run by DDP Member, Nick84, is close behind us at 164,588.
Maybe [...]
